Abstract:
To provide an aromatic vinyl benzyl ether compound that gives a curable material having excellent dielectric properties (low dielectric constant, low dielectric loss tangent) even after moisture absorption under a high temperature and high humidity environment, and also having a high glass transition temperature and fire resistance, and to provide a curable composition.
A polyhydric phenol having 3-9 phenolic hydroxyl groups in the molecule and a molecular weight of 250 or more is reacted with a vinylbenzyl halide to obtain an aromatic vinyl benzyl ether compound having 2-9 phenolic hydroxyl groups vinylbenzylated. The aromatic vinyl benzyl ether compound has a total halogen content of 600 ppm or less.
