PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of the buckling at the tip of the transfer paper, by setting a roll for arranging papers on a paper feed tray in an upward and downward movable way, and press-contacting the roll to the paper feed tray only in case the roll arranges the transfer paper properly, if necessary.

CONSTITUTION: A paper arranging roll 17 is set on a paper feed tray 11 in an up-down movable way. The roll 17 moves down at a moment when the tip of the transfer paper reaches the place right under the roll 17. Thus the roll 17 has a pressure-contact to the transfer paper. The transfer paper is moved toward a front plate 12 by the turning force or the frictional force and then touch the plate 12. Then a current is supplied to a solenoid 21, and the roll 17 moves up and gets apart from the transfer paper. In such way, the roll 17 moves down only in case it arranges the transfer paper properly if necessary and touches the transfer paper. Thus no buckling is produced at the tip of the transfer paper.
