To efficiently arrange the prescribed number of articles to the same destination as one unit by using a small number of workers and branch lanes.
The method has twenty-four branch lanes 11 on one side of a feeding conveyor 10, and a carrying-out conveyor 14 transporting articles 2 delivered from the lanes to a pallet stacking station 15. The lanes 11 are divided into a fixed branch lane group K assigning a destination fixedly and a free branch lane group F capable of freely assigning it if it is not yet assigned. When the lanes 11 of the fixed group K become full and are no longer capable of stocking the articles 2, the not-yet assigned lanes 11 of the free group F are assigned for the destination to stock the articles 2. When the number of articles that are stackable on one pallet are stocked in each lane 11 of both groups assigned for the same destination, the articles 2 in the lanes 11 are delivered to the conveyor 14.
