PURPOSE: To restrain distortion and irregularity of recording dots from occurring by a method wherein two or more recording heads are put in order so that each of them is kept in the specified direction against a positioning member corresponding to the eccentric state between a piezo-oscillating element and a glass tube of each of the recording heads to be arranged.
CONSTITUTION: The front end of a glass tube 1 of a recording head is positioned by the conical point of the glass tube and a hole provided on a positioning member 36, and the rear end is positioned by the outer circumference of the glass tube 1 and an ink tank 31, and both the ends are fixed with adhesive respectively. The direction of eccentricity of the glass tube 1 is measured by using a jig, and the point where the eccentricity is maximum or minimum is marked. The recording heads are so positioned and arranged that the marks are located just beside the recording heads in the main scanning direction of the recording heads. With this method, the accuracy of pitch between recording dots discharged from the recording head is most easily attained in both lateral and longitudinal directions, and the spouting direction of ink from the recording head can be maintained in a most uniform state, so that distortion and irregularity of recording dots are restrained to a minimum.
