PURPOSE: To assuredly, quickly arrange the back abdomens of fishes properly using an extremely simple device by taking advantage of the difference in the physical properties of each part of the fishes charged with their heads taking the lead.
CONSTITUTION: A fish body such as of sardine or mackerel lain with its head taking the lead is carried in a slidably downward manner through a tilted chute 1 with a U-shaped cross section, and the head is introduced into a gap with about the same size as the thickness of the fish body between two columnar rotary rollers 2 located at the lower end of the chute and rotating oppositely to each other. When collided against the rollers, the head end of the lain fish is subjected to rotary force so as to raise the head side upward. Thereby, the fish body is passed between the two rollers While arranging it in an attitude with the back upward and the abdomen downward, and fish bodies aligned in the same attitude through a guide chute 3 with the U-shaped cross section are withdrawn.
