To provide a circuit configuration for high-speed beam generation in a base band processing section of a receiver employing an array antenna and a circuit configuration for a searcher to realize it.

A searcher 20 applies correlation processing to signals received from the array antenna 21, respectively, by each antenna signal to calculate a complex correlation value. An antenna synthesis path timing detection section 22 converts the complex correlation value from each antenna into a power value and averages and synthesizes the power values of the antennas to search a path. An adaptive array reception section 24 receives the result and uses it for inverse spread processing. Furthermore, an inter-antenna correlation estimate section 23 detects a correlation value (phase difference) among the complex values from the antennas, converts it into a weight of a beam former and gives it to a weight update section as an initial weight.
