Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an active sub-array that is compact and can be assembled into a large antenna array as a sub-array tile.
CONSTITUTION: This array grid layer includes a manifold 14 for transferring a microwave signal from an exciting device 10, a beam control means 18 comprised of a phase shifter controlling the signal from the manifold 14, a transmitting amplifier 22, an antenna 28, and a receiving amplifier 24, with the antenna 28, the transmitting amplifier 22, the receiving amplifier 24, the beam control means 18, and the manifold 14 arranged on a plurality of planes stacked and aligned.
