This arrester is constituted by piling up lightning elements 3 between the terminal fittings 2a and 2b and connecting the fittings 2a and 2b to each other through insulation bars 1, and then, molding the outer peripheries of the elements 3 and bars 1 with resin. Each of the discoid terminal fittings 2a and 2b is divided into n parts, and n holes 2c are provided at regular intervals on the same circumference. The insulation bars 1 are inserted into the holes 2c and fixed to the terminal fittings 2a and 2b by compressing the fittings 2a and 2b toward the centers of the fittings 2a and 2b from the outer peripheries of the fittings 2a and 2b by means of dies divided into n parts.
