ARRIVAL DIRECTION ESTIMATION METHOD BY ARRAY ANTENNA AND DS-CDMA RECEIVER USING THE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate the arrival direction of desired signals even with the interference of a high reception level.
SOLUTION: In a DS-CDMA communication system for performing a spread processing by the long code of a cycle longer than a symbol length and performing transmission, reception signals by array antennas 1-1-1-(M-1) are inversely spreaded by inverse spread parts 3-0-3-(M-1) and the inversely spread output signals are inversely modulated by a known symbol by an inverse modulation part 8. The mutual correlation function of a lag other than zero between inversely modulated output signals corresponding to adjacent antenna elements is obtained by an arrival direction estimation part 6, the arrival direction of the desired signals is estimated based on the mutual correlation function and the inversely spread output signals are synthesized and outputted corresponding to the arrival direction and inputted to a channel reception part 5 by a beam former 7.
