Abstract:

To establish a technique for efficiently removing arsenic finely contained in water by a simple method without distinction of waste water/water for use, and to provide a raw material preferably used for the treatment.

This arsenic-catching fiber is an iron-chelated fiber obtained by forming iron chelate bonds in a chelate-forming fiber prepared by introducing chelate-forming functional groups such as iminodiacetic acid group, a nitrilotriacetic acid group, ethylenediaminetriacetic acid group, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid group, and the like into the fiber molecule. The iron-chelating fiber is brought into contact with arsenic-containing water to catch / remove the arsenic.
