Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arteriosclerosis evaluation apparatus capable of performing diagnosis on arteriosclerosis with high accuracy.
SOLUTION: A simultaneous display means 84 displays a mark on coordinates determined by measured pulse wave velocity PWV and AI (Augmentation Index) on a two-dimensional graph consisting of the pulse wave velocity component and the AI component. Because the pulse wave velocity PWV and the AI both reflect arteriosclerosis, diagnosis on arteriosclerosis based on the pulse wave velocity PWV and the AI can be easily made using the position of the mark displayed on the two-dimensional graph. Thus, for example, even if one cannot easily determine whether there is the need for treatment by medication when only the pulse wave velocity PWV is available, the AI as a value indicating the need for treatment enables one to determin the need for treatment, enhancing th e accuracy of diagnosis.
