To provide an inexpensive article basket transfer device capable of easily transferring an article basket placed on a lower stage of a shopping cart to a cash register table.
The article basket transfer device is provided with the cash register table 1; a counter 2 installed in an end part of the cash register table 1; and the shopping cart 3 having an upper stage shelf 4 and a lower stage shelf 5 for placing an article basket A. The counter 2 can be lifted/lowered between a lowered position where an upper face of the counter 2 is lower than the lower stage shelf 5 of the shopping cart 3 and a lifted position where the upper face of the counter 2 has the same height as that of the upper face of the cash register table 1. A transfer plate 11 installable between the upper face of the counter 2 in the lowering position and the lower stage shelf 5 of the shopping cart 3 is provided on the counter 2 or the lower stage shelf 5 of the shopping cart 3.
