Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce as much as possible limitation placed on the structure of an article carrying vehicle itself or a structure around it even if the transfer device of the article carrying vehicle or an article held in its article receiving and holding part is rotary-driven around a vertical axis.
SOLUTION: In an article carrying vehicle having an extensible contractible transfer device TE for transferring an article C by extending and retreating an article receiving and holding part while a vehicle body is kept in a stopped condition so as to position a station ST in its side, an article transfer control means is provided for rotating, when the article C is transferred to the station ST, the transfer device TE around a vertical axis by a rotary-driving means while the same is moved to the station ST side from its position during carrying by a slide movement driving means, and changing the attitude of the article C received and held in the transfer device TE.
