PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately and surely dispense an article from an article passage even when the article is a pet bottle or cup article.
SOLUTION: This article ejector is provided with an article dispensing device for dispensing a front article S1 from the dispensing port of the article passage, a light emitting element 71 for emitting light close to the dispensing port, a light receiving element 72 for outputting an electric signal having a light receiving level corresponding to the quantity of received light, a setting means for setting a reference level on the basis of the light receiving level of the light receiving element when the article is not present between the light emitting element 71 and the light receiving element 72, a storage means for storing the set reference level, a comparing means for comparing the reference level in the storage means with the light receiving level after the start of dispensation of the front article S1 in real time and a stopping means for stopping the operation of the article dispensing device when a difference between the reference level and the light receiving level is changed from a state more than a prescribed value to the state of zero after the dispensation of the front article S1 is started.
