PURPOSE: To surely feed articles at a correct attitude from a feeding conveyor to a main conveyor by dividing a plurality of thin strip shaped conveyors arranged in the driving direction into plural groups in the direction crossing with the driving direction and driving the contiguously arranged group at an equal speed, while at each different speed in the driving direction.

CONSTITUTION: A feeding conveyor 2 is constituted by arranging a plurality of thin strip shaped belt conveyors 22, 23,... which are parallel in the driving direction. Each conveyor 22, 23,... is divided into different length striding over in each group A, B, C, and since, when an article G is transported in the width direction, the terminal position of each conveyor 22, 23,... is different in each group, and the driving speed is different in each group, a turning torque is generated on the article G because of the relative position between the conveyors 22, 23,... and the article G and the speed difference between the groups, and the article is transferred on a main conveyor, keeping the attitude in a previously determined direction. Accordingly, the article is prevented from being broken and damaged, and transfer precision is improved and workability is improved.
