The article holding device 1 is composed of a frame member 2 fixed on a vehicle body frame, supporting the article over the vehicle body, and a plurality of article holding tools 3 holding the article loaded on an upper surface side of the frame member 2. A front face part support member 4 constituting the frame member 2 pivotally supports an article placing member 7 so as to rotate corresponding to operation of a handlebar, and is provided with a windshield part 9 having a transparent resin plate 12. A protecting member 22 is mounted to an intermediate part support member 5 and a rear part support member 6 constituting the frame member 2 for protecting the side and rear of a rider.
