PURPOSE: To quickly form a corrugated board tray to pack a group of articles, by folding a material along a fold line at a hopper station, loading the supplied articles onto a partially assembled material, guiding the same to a desired position of a packaging station, and adhering and bonding the tray containing the articles by an adhesive.
CONSTITUTION: A material is withdrawn at a hopper station 16, and folded along a fold line. The partially assembled material is pushed out to a packaging station 18. A flap of the material is folded at a right-angle position, and placed in such manner that a bottom and a side wall of the material are positioned at a lower side of a stopper plate, and a group of articles is sent on the stopper plate to be contacted with the material. Then the partially assembled material loading the articles is sent to an adhesive applying station 20 for applying the adhesive to both ends of both sides of the tray to adhere and connect both side walls to a front wall flap and a rear wall flap whereby the article package is completed. That is, the corrugated board tray can be quickly assembled, and the article packages can be continuously formed by putting a group of articles such as cans, bottles and the like in the trays.
