PURPOSE: To provide an article piling-up device and an article piling-up method which enables carrying-in of articles and efficient continuous piling-up of a large quantity of articles in a lower place in a factory for example on a floor surface.

CONSTITUTION: By using gripper members 13, 13 for an article W which are moved by being supported by each frame 6, etc., and a suspension member 11 and numerically controlled back and forth, right and left, and up and down, articles W are sequentially piled on articles W of a preceding row and are thus piled up in a prescribed number of stages. By gripping and lifting the articles supported by respective frames and moved back and forth, right and left, and up and down, therefore, it is possible to carry in articles, in a lower place in a factory for example, on a floor surface and to carry out continuous efficient piling-up of a large quantity of articles.
