This article receiving and shipping control system 1 is constructed to determine a storage location L of an entering article W at a delivery center 2 provided with a plurality of shipping berths 4, and is provided with a storage area selection means 21 and a storage location determination means 22. The storage area selection means 21 selects a storage area E including the plurality of storage locations L according to a search order pattern 33 established for each item. The storage location determination means 22 determines the storage location L in the selected storage area E according to a predetermined rule 30. The storage location determination means 22 makes the storage area selection means 21 select next storage area E when determination conditions of the predetermined rule 30 are not fulfilled.
