To provide an article sales management system which makes it possible to draw lots and gives lottery results immediately.

The article sales data management system 10 is equipped with a cash register 2 which records sales data by customers as articles are sold, a store controller 1 which sums up the sales data recorded by the cash register 2, and a lot drawing device 3 which draws lots. When an article is sold, the cash register 2 generates a bar code B for lot drawing used for a lottery and the generated bar code B is printed on a normally issued receipt. The lot drawing device 3 equipped with a bar code reader 307 reads the bar code B, judges from the read bar code B whether a lot is won, and displays the lottery result on a display 305.
