PURPOSE: To house a lot of articles in a state of being less in a floor space, by installing such a relay conveyor that moves these articles up or don in parallelism or an almost parallel position.

CONSTITUTION: Each conveying passage 1 consists of eight pieces of rectilinear main conveying passage parts 1A lined up in a parallel position and auxiliary conveying passage parts 1B connecting ends themselves of these adjacent main conveying passage part 1A, and conveyseach bucket X meanderingly. A relay device 2 is installed in the lower spot of an inlet 3 and the upper spot of an outlet 4. Actuation, feeding the bucket X along the main conveying passage part 1A after operating a feeding cylinder one reciprocation, actuation, feeding the bucket X along the auxiliary conveying passage part 1B after operating a traversing cylinder one reciprocation, and actuation moving the bucket X downward after operating a lifting cylinder one reciprocation are all repetitively carried out in a successive manner whereby the bucket X is successively conveyed toward the outlet 4 from the inlet 3.
