PURPOSE: To freely pick up a vehicle easily brought out by a single worker, for instance, in an auction site or the like of a used car.

CONSTITUTION: A vehicle holding device 7, lift wound up/down by a traversing lift winding device 5 provided in a running crane 1 traveling along a line of arranged many vehicles 2, is provided, and two carriages 9, moved so as to approach and separate each other to the right/left in a car width direction, are provided in a main unit frame 8 of this vehicle holding device 7. Hoist arms 11, 12 having a turn pawl 13, capable of supporting a vehicle from the right/left, are successively suspended in the point end from a front/rear position of each carriage 9, to constitute the one hoist arm 11 front/rear swivelably along a car length direction, so that a car width space by the right/left turn pawls 13 can be adjusted by moving the carriage 9, and so that a tire space by the front/rear turn pawl 13 can be adjusted by swiveling the hoist arm 11.
