PURPOSE: To provide an article taking-out device in which an apparatus for taking out a vessel housed in a holder, and an apparatus for arranging the direction of the vessel, are integrally constituted.

CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a conveyor 2, carrying a holder 12 housing a vessel 14; a gripper 11, arranged on the upper side of the conveyor 2 and proceeding together with the conveyor 2; a rotation mechanism 61, rotating the gripper 11; an elevating mechanism 41, elevating the gripper 11; and a checker, detecting the direction of the vessel 14. The gripper 11 is lowered to grip the vessel 14, and then is elevated to extract the vessel 14 from the holder 12. According to a detection signal from the checker, a vessel 14, having a correct direction, is left as it is, and a vessel 14, having a different direction, is arranged in the correct direction by rotating the gripper 11. Thus the vessel 14 is gripped by the same gripper 11 to be taken out and arranged, and therefore the device is made compact and a cost is reduced.
