To synchronize and operate a plurality of conveyors in an article transfer conveyor with a simple structure wherein a plurality of the conveyors having an independent driving device respectively are connected in series.
The plurality of conveyors 1, 2 and 3 constituting the article transfer conveyor are provided with fixed position cams 4, 5 and 6 for generating a signal in a predetermined rotation position; and the conveyor 2 is a reference conveyor equipped with a pulse shaft 7 for generating a predetermined number of pulses for each rotation of the conveyor 2, or an integration timer 8 for integrating passed time for each rotation. The rotation difference of the reference conveyor 2 at the time of generation of the signal by the fixed position cams 4, 5 and 6 is detected as the difference of the number of the pulses generated by the pulse shaft 7 or the integration time difference by the integration timer 8, the rotational frequency of the driving devices of the conveyors 1, 2 and 3 is controlled to be increased or decreased so that the difference of the number of the pulses or the time difference is to be zero, and the conveyors 1 and 3 are synchronized with the reference conveyor 2 and are operated.
