Title:
ARTIFICIAL COLLAGEN MOLDING AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5819331
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an artificial collagen molding having tear strength, tensile strength, etc., as high as those of a natural collagen molding, by crosslinking a collagen substance and then splitting the substance.

CONSTITUTION: Prior to splitting a collagen substance (e.g., one prepared by cutting a dehaired, defatted and deashed animal skin to a suitable size), the collagen substance is crosslinked so that a difference in the heat absorption peak temperature for thermal denaturation of the collagen substance before and after the crosslinking is 1.0W10°C, and said peak temperature after the crosslinking can fall within the temperature range of 63W74°C. Then an aqueous dispersion containing splitted collagen fiber is prepared by splitting the crosslinked collagen substance until its viscosity as a 1wt% aqueous dispersion becomes 100W2,000cP, and its spinnability reaches 30W80mm. Then the collagen fiber is subjected to electrodeposition. Thus an artificial collagen molding is prepared which has a heat absorpotion peak temperature for thermal denaturation of 62W71°C, a wet tensile strength of 3W6kg/mm2 at a thickness of 5W20μm and a wet tear strength of 25W150g.cm/cm.
