Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an artificial feed for raising silkworm having strong water holding power without separating water from the artificial feed for the silkworm by using a small amount of gelan gum as a water holding agent.
CONSTITUTION: The objective feed obtained by using gelan gum as a water holding agent in an amount of 0.01-3.0wt.% based on the total amount of water. The amount of the gelan gum added is, e.g., 0.017-5.0wt.% when the moisture content of the artificial feed is 60wt.%.
