Title:
ARTIFICIAL HEART ASSEMBLY HAVING SENSORLESS DC BRUSHLESS MOTOR, AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09253196
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial heart assembly designed to be embedded in a subject body as a total artificial heart or ventricle assisting device. SOLUTION: An artificial heart is provided with a blood input guide tube, a blood output guide tube, a pumping mechanism to pump blood from the blood input guide tube to the blood output guide tube, and a sensorless DC brushless motor which is connected to the pumping mechanism with relation to action. The motor is inversely driven in a first and a second directions, and the first and the second directions are changed from each other at a rate of at least about 30 times per min. An artificial heart assembly is provided with a means to apply electric signals to plural motor terminals while at least one of motor terminals is in a non-excited condition, a means to detect a voltage at the non-excited motor terminal, and a means to determine an angular position of a rotor to a stator based on the voltage at the non-excited terminal.
