Abstract:
To provide an artificial joint mechanism which is compact and passive.SOLUTION: The artificial joint mechanism comprises: a biaxial mechanism having five plates interconnected foldably via four hinge joints; a pronation and supination mechanism having rotation means connected to the biaxial mechanism; and return means for returning the biaxial mechanism to a primary position. Two of the four hinge joints are arranged in parallel to a first axis and the other two are arranged in parallel to a second axis orthogonal to the first axis.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
