Abstract:
To provide an artificial muscle body which achieves excellent softness and a larger displacement along with a light weight and a quick response.
This artificial muscle body 1 is made up of an elongated rectangular plate-shaped solid electrolytic molded body 2, polyaniline membrane bodies 3a and 3b formed being mutually insulated on the surface of the solid electrolytic molded body 2 and metal electrodes 4a and 4b formed on the polyaniline membrane bodies 3a and 3b. In this case, a voltage is applied to the pair of metal electrodes 4a and 4b so that the polyaniline membrane bodies are deformed to allow free deformation of the artificial muscle body in any specified direction.
