PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial peptide with a rare metal-binding capacity, to provide a method for recovering rare metals with few environmental loads, and to provide a convenient method for detecting rare metals.SOLUTION: A peptide has the following amino acid sequence (1), and the number of amino acid residues is 100 or less, and preferably is the following amino acid sequence (2), (3), (4), or (5). (1) SDPLXRRASXIGLLHLLLWKLERX(Xrepresents V or H, Xrepresents R or L, and Xrepresents any amino acid); (2) SDPLVRRASLIGLLHLLLWKLERK; (3) SDPLVRRASRIGLLHLLLWKLERK; (4) SDPLHRRASRIGLLHLLLWKLERK; and (5) SDPLVRRASRIGLLHLLLWKLERR.
