Title:
ARTIFICIAL SNOW GENERATION SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3429998
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial snow generating system suitable for a skiing ground in which clogging of a water spray pipe or a water spray port can be prevented surely and artificial snow can be generated stably while facilitating cleaning and replacement of a strainer.
SOLUTION: An artificial snow generating system comprises a cooler, i.e., an ice making drum 6, to be fed with refrigerant from a refrigerating machine 2, and a pipe 7 for spraying water to the outer circumferential surface of the ice making drum 6 wherein water is sprayed from the water spray pipe 7 while turning the drum 6 and ice produced on the outer circumferential surface thereof is scratched by means of a scratch cutter 8 to generate artificial snow. A water supply pipe 29 leading from an ice making water intake source 26 to the water spray pipe 7 is provided, in the way thereof, with a main strainer 41 and a differential pressure switch 46 being turned on when the pressure difference across the strainer 41 exceeds a specified level. The switch 46 is connected with means 48 for alarming clogging of the main strainer 41 based on a signal from the switch 46. Furthermore, a pipe 43 bypassing the main strainer 41 is provided in series with two on/off valves 45a, 45b and a sub-strainer 42 is provided between both valves.
