To obtain a new compound having a specific arylcyclopropyl oxime ether structure and useful as a germicidal composition, etc., for controlling plant pathogenic fungi.
This compound is represented by formula I (X is N or CH; Z is O, S or the like; A is H, a halo, cyano or the like; R1 is H or a 1-4C alkyl; R2 to R5 are each H, a 1-12C alkyl or the like; R7 is an aryl, an aralkyl or the like) and its antipode, a stereoisomer and a salt acceptable to field crop cultivation thereof, preferably N-methyl-2-[2-((((trans-1-(2-(3'- trifluoromethylphenyl)cyclopropyl)ethylidene)-amino)oxy)methyl)phenyl]-2- methoxyiminoacetamide. The above compound is obtained by treating a cyclopropyl-substituted oxime represented by formula II with a base such as sodium hydride at room temperature, forming an anion and subsequently adding a benzyl bromide represented by formula III (Z is a halogen) thereto.
