Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new arylaminoisobutylsilane compound useful for the production of arylaminosilane end-capped urethane sealants which have high elongation and low modulus of elasticity and are excellent in flexibility.
CONSTITUTION: A compound with a formula Ar-NHCH2CH(CH3)CH2Si(CH3)(OR)2 (wherein Ar is an aryl; and R is a 1-6C alkyl), for example, 3-(N-phenyl) aminoisobutylmethyldimethoxysilane. The compound of the formula is obtained, for example, by reacting 3-chloroisobutylmethyldialkoxysilane with an arylamine.
