Title:
ARYLSULFATASE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03155781
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL: A sulfatase catalyzing the conversion of 4' demethylepipodophyllotoxin glucoside 4'-sulfate into 4' demethylepipodophyllotoxin glucoside. It has a molecular weight of about 45 KD measured by SDS-PAGE, an isoelectric point of about 5.6, an optimum pH of about 9.0 and an optimum temperature of about 30°C and exhibits substrate specificity to 4'-demethylepipodophyllotoxin glucoside, etoposide 4'-phosphate and etoposide 4'-sulfate.
USE: A catalyst for the above reaction.
PROCESS: The enzyme is isolated e.g. from a microorganism T109-3 of the genus Streptomyces.
