Abstract:
To provide an asbestos treatment method in which asbestos is irreversibly made harmless at a lower temperature, and which can suppress generation of toxic by-products after the asbestos has been made harmless, compared to prior art.SOLUTION: An asbestos treatment method includes the steps of: (a) firing at least one kind selected from asbestos and an asbestos-containing material at a temperature that is 400°C or higher but less than a melting point temperature of asbestos being a treatment object; and (b) pulverizing the at least one kind selected from asbestos and an asbestos-containing material. In addition, a step (c) for autoclaving the at least one kind selected from asbestos and an asbestos-containing material under conditions of a pressure of 1.5-3 air pressure and a temperature of 100°C-150°C may be included.SELECTED DRAWING: None
