To provide a method for removing asbestos without scattering asbestos particles when the adhered asbestos is removed from a building or the like in which the asbestos has been used.

The asbestos is made to come off by spraying through a nozzle high-pressure water including a chemical containing an asbestos scattering inhibitor containing a soft binder, a thickener and a wetting penetrant together with a metal chelate used as required containing asbestos, after coating a material to be treated with a composition comprising water and the chemical containing the scattering inhibitor containing the soft binder, the thickener and the wetting penetrant together with the metal chelate used as required. The water containing the peeled-off asbestos and the chemical is recovered by sucking and is micro-filtered to reuse the filtrate as the high-pressure water. The filtered residual asbestos is melted or treated as the special administrative industrial waste. Drain containing the asbestos is collected and solidified by adding a high water absorbing agent to be treated as the special administrative industrial waste.
