To provide an apparatus for washing and dehydrating ash which is capable of reducing the number of parts and cost and being made small-sized by increasing the capacity of the washing and dehydrating the ash.
The washing and dehydrating apparatus for the ash is used for obtaining a dehydrated cake desalted and dehydrated by injecting ash slurry prepared by adding water to the ash into filter chambers S partitioned by filter plates 6 and filter frames 7 of a filter press 3 formed by interposing the filter frames 7 among a plurality of the filter plates 6 holding filter clothes 5, filtering and dehydrating and after that, washing and desalting the ash slurry in the filter chamber with cleaning water injected into the filter chamber S as needed. In such a case, the thickness B of the filter chamber S of the filter press 3 is set to 50-300 mm.
