Title:
COLOR IDENTIFYING METHOD WITH EXTINCTION FILTER AND ITS DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3176330
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make identifiable the color of an object such as glass or a synthetic resin at a high speed, by picking up the image of the object with a color image pickup device via an extinction filter having different transmission factors, and identifying the color of the object based on the light transmitting a portion of the extinction filter.
SOLUTION: When a glass bottle 32 is moved to a measurement position by a conveying device 3, an object detector detects it and generates an excitation signal. When a color image pickup device 23 receives the excitation signal, it photographs the glass bottle 32 from the back side of an extinction filter 21 having different transmission factors. The image of the glass bottle 32 is formed in the overlapped state on the extinction filter 21, and its checkered pattern is arranged in parallel with the axis of the glass bottle 32. The brightness of the image of the glass bottle 32 is changed in response to the checkered portions with different transmission factors of the extinction filter 21. The intensity of the image signal is measured for the portion with the lowest light transmission factor. If the color can be judged, the intensity of the image signal is measured for the portion with a larger light transmission factor in sequence, and the image output is fed to a color judging device for a color judgment.
