To provide an ash removing device and its method for an incinerator capable of efficiently and surely removing ash such as fly ash attached to the incinerator, without scattering the same.
A work vehicle 72 is movably loaded on an outer wall surface of a gasification furnace 70. The work vehicle 72 is guided movably along an axis 71 of the gasification furnace 70 by a wire rope 94. Then an air tube 84 is expanded to be closely kept into contact with the outer wall surface of the gasification furnace 70. Then sponge blast medium is projected to a prescribed area of the outer wall surface through an opening portion 82 for working formed on a floor of the work vehicle 72 to remove the ash attached to the area. The powder dust generated at that time does not leak to the external of the work vehicle 72 as the inside of the work vehicle 72 is completely closed by the air tube 84.
