To solve the problem that, when a liquid epoxy resin is used as a modifier for an asphalt mixture composition, the pot life of the asphalt mixture composition from its preparation to its use for pavement becomes short because of the high reactivity of the epoxy resin and hence the workload for weighing, mixing, etc., increases.
An asphalt mixture composition is provided which contains a modifier containing, as the main ingredient, a solid epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent of 400-3,500 and a melting point of 50-220°C. A method for producing the asphalt mixture composition comprises putting the solid epoxy resin and a curing agent into a container meltable at the temperature for producing the mixture and charging the container containing the epoxy resin and the curing agent into a machine for producing the mixture.
