Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to supply immediately a large amount of an asphalt mixture to a construction site in an area whose land traffic is interrupted or obstructed in its usage by providing an asphalt plant aboard a barge.
SOLUTION: A barge 1 is towed into a port or a wharf near a construction site so that the ship may come alongside the pier. Then, various kinds of construction materials, such as crushed stones, sand, sand powder, and asphalt, which are transported by sea or land, are received in the barge 1 by way of material receiving facilities, such as aggregate receiving hoppers 41 and 42 aboard the ship where the crushed stones and sand are stored in an aggregate storage space 40 while the stone powder is stored in a stone powder silo and the asphalt is stored in an asphalt tank 23. Then, the aggregates are heated with a dryer 5 and the heated aggregates are carried over to a plant main body 7 where they are screened by particle diameter and temporarily stored. In the mean time, a specified amount of various kinds of aggregates are measured in conformity with the blending of shipping materials. They are charged into a mixer together with the stone dust and asphalt separately measured and mixed and adjusted, thereby manufacturing a specified asphalt mixed materials and loading them in a transportation car and carrying them to the construction site.
