Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form and implement with lower cost a device or a method for controlling dispersion of the terminal voltage of a battery pack. SOLUTION: A battery pack 22 in which a plurality of unit cells 23 made up of lithium secondary battery is applied to battery for driving a traction motor of HEV, and a CPU 38 of a battery pack supervisory circuit part 26 controls the drive of the traction motor through a vehicle control circuit part 29 as such that the discharge from or charge to the battery pack 22 is preferentially performed when comparators 31U, 31L of a cell status monitor circuit part 25 exceeds the upper limit voltage Vu or is below the lower limit voltage Vl. Then, when the dispersion of the terminal voltage of each unit cell 23 which composes a sell group 24 is determined to be extended beyond the predetermined level, a mean unit cell voltage VCM charges the upper limit voltage Vu to exceed by the predetermined voltage Δ and the dispersion of the terminal voltage is adjusted.
