Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the assembling method for an electron gun cathode structure using a noncontact type range finder capable of accurately setting the distance between a first grid and a cathode to a desired value and suppressing the dispersion of the cathode cutoff voltage.
CONSTITUTION: In the assembling method for an electron gun cathode structure, the first grid G1 and a spacer 12 are fitted to the one-side face of a base 10 made of an insulator, then a cathode is arranged on the other side of the base 10. The distance d12 between the upper face 12a of the spacer 12 and the upper face of the first grid G1 is measured. The distance (d) between the upper face 12a of the spacer 12 and the cathode is measured with a noncontact type range finder 50 while the reference face 52 of the noncontact type range finder 50 is kept in contact with the upper face 12a of the spacer 12, and the position of the cathode with respect to the first grid G1 is adjusted so that the value of the distance difference (d-d12) becomes the desired value.
