Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deformation or breakage of a cage when mounting an inner ring thereto in the step of using the resin cage for assembling a tapered roller bearing.SOLUTION: In an assembling method for a tapered roller bearing 10 having an inner ring 12 on the small diameter side of which a small flange part 16 is provided with its diameter larger than the inscribed diameter of each of tapered rollers 13, the synthetic resin cage has a plurality of pockets 15 formed in the peripheral direction to hold the tapered rollers 13. The assembling method includes a first assembling step of mounting the tapered rollers 13 into the pockets 15 to assemble a cage assembly 42, a second assembling step of mounting the inner ring 12 to the cage assembly 42 to assemble an inner ring assembly 41, and a third assembling step of mounting an outer ring to the inner ring assembly 41, in sequence. The second assembling step consists of coaxially rotating the inner ring 12 to be mounted, while rotating the tapered rollers 13 contacting the inner ring 12 within the pockets 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
