Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy assembling method of a wheel bearing device which prevents the sufficiency/insufficiency of a fastening margin between a side lip and a slinger of a sealing device, and is excellent in sealing performance.SOLUTION: In an assembling method of a wheel bearing device 1, the wheel bearing device has an outer ring member 10, a hub shaft 20 having a hub flange 22, rolling bodies 40, and a sealing device 50 which seals an opening part of a bearing internal space 2 at the hub flange 22 side between the outer ring member 10 and the hub shaft 20. The sealing device 50 is composed of a slinger 60 and a seal part 53, the slinger 60 has a cylinder part 61 and a disc part 62, the seal part 53 has a side lip 58, and an end part 59 of the side lip 58 at the disc part 22 side slide-contacts with a side face 65 of the disc part 62. A width B in an axial direction which is set for obtaining a proper fastening margin is equal to an interval L between a side face 66 of the disc part 62 and a side face 25 of the hub flange 22, and the slinger 60 is attached by using an annular positioning jig 120 which is divided into a plurality of segments in a circumferential direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
