Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable one worker to assemble a small-sized drive in one assembly station by using a ball swaging jig as well as a motor/disk platform and disk tightening means.
CONSTITUTION: The ball swaging jig 10 has a swaging ball and couples a magnetic head flexer 12 to a head arm/actuator subassembly and mounts the wires of head circuits to a flexible wiring cable. The motor/disk platform 26 couples a disk driving motor and a driving motor hub 30 to a memory disk 31. The disk tightening means has a torque gage for assembling fasteners for coupling the disk 31 to the driving motor and the motor hub 30. The one person is able to assemble the disk drive in one assembly station by using these jigs.
