PURPOSE: To perform rapid assembly of assembly parts, by providing an assembly robot which mounts a part to a mounting point through correction of orientation of the assembly part conveyed based on decision data of a visual recognizing system.
CONSTITUTION: A visual recognizing system 6 has a video camera 7, and when a part 8 to be assembled is positioned in a place, the video camera 7 photographs a region containing an attaching point where an assembly part on the part 8 to be assembled is attached. The visual recognizing system 6 decides the position of a part attaching point on the part 8 to be assembled by means of an output signal from the video camera 7 to output a decision signal. An assembly robot 4 is controlled by means of the decision data, grasps an assembly part 13 contained in a magazine 12 by means of a hand, 5 and conveys the assembly part to the part 8 to be assembled to attach it to a part attaching point.
