To provide an assist air supply device for supplying assist air to a fuel injection valve even when starting an engine.
The assist air supply device is provided for supplying assist air to the fuel injection valve of the internal combustion engine to atomize fuel. It comprises a communication passage 81 having one end communicated with an exhaust passage 36, a pressure storage chamber 80 communicated with the other end of the communication passage 81 for storing pressure using air in the exhaust passage 36 as the assist air, an air intake valve 82 for opening/closing the communication passage 81, and an ECU 100 for controlling the air intake valve 82 to be opened/closed. The ECU 100 puts the air intake valve 82 in the opened condition when motoring is applied to the engine 200.
