Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an assisting apparatus for toilet, which assists an invalid whose half body left or right is disable. to make urinal action.

CONSTITUTION: An assisting apparatus 20 for using a toilet includes a supporting mechanism 30 to be installed in front of a Western style water closet 10. The supporting mechanism 30 is so structured that art aid rod 34 is set in horizontal direction over the tops of a left and a right column 32R, 32L. When a male invalid whose half body, either left or right, wants to make urinal action while standing, he holds the supporting rod 34 by his arm hole on able side and supports himself with the body set upright. In this condition, he supports himself only by his arm hole on the able side and can use the hand freely. He can thus make urinal actions such as pulling down the fastener of the trousers by that hand on the able side. Because the aid rod 34 is removable from the front of the water closet 10, it does not constitute any hindrance for ordinary use.
