PURPOSE: To provide athletic tool provided with a motion number of times detection display means without providing a mechanically slidable part in non- contact and with long service life and high performance.

CONSTITUTION: A non-contact type voltage oscillating gyro 8 without providing the mechanically slidable part is arranged as a detection sensor for the number of times of motion on one terminal side of the grip 2 of a skipping rope 1, and a signal processing part 15 which processes the signal of the detection sensor 8 and a display 14 which displays the number of times of motion based on the signal output of the signal processing part 15 are provided on the other terminal side of the grip 2. When skipping rope motion is started and the skipping rope 1 makes one turn, a detection signal in accordance with the rotary motion of the skipping rope is outputted from the oscillating gyro 8. The signal is processed by the signal processing part 15, and the number of times of motion is displayed on the display 14.
